"A Lesson in Language: The Story of a Kindergartener is an amazing story that is a definite must-read. The novel does an excellent job at describing and explaining to student how it is that we all came to be different and unique individuals. Not only that but the novel also demonstrates teamwork yet individualization. As the children are engaging in their discussion of how different languages arose and as they each contributed to answer the question, each remained confident in their indivual self which is something all students should be familar with. As a catechism teacher helper, when we engage in discussions about the bible a lot of children will be scared of sharing their ideas, in fear they may be wrong. This book is amazing in the  fact that it inspires them to collaborate as a team yet remain confident in their individual thoughts and perspectives. Therefore, allowing them to not only appreciate themselves but reach acceptance and respect of others."

"Page through page I was completely entrigued into this story's powerful message. A Lesson in Language: The Story of a Kindergartener not only portrays the importance of respect to other individuals but it also teaches them about a subject that is not easy to explain. From personal experience, a lot of time children may make inappropriate comments regarding another child's race, gender, ethnicity, background, etc. yet they do not know that what they say is wrong. Although this is something completely normal because of their age, it is important to open the door that leads them into appreciating our diverse world. This novel definitely achieves the goal in instilling into students a clear message on how even though we're all different from one another, it's still important to have the most important trait: respect."
